The short version

This site has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no cookies, no forms, no newsletter and no login. It collects nothing about you beyond what a web server has to process to send you a page.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, operated by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. To deliver and secure the pages, Cloudflare processes the data every HTTP request carries: your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user agent. Cloudflare stores this for a limited period and uses it to operate the service and to defend against attacks.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is a site that loads and is not taken down by an attack. Cloudflare acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR; transfers to the USA are covered by the EU standard contractual clauses. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

For visitors in Switzerland, the same processing is covered by the Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG).

Fonts and assets

Barlow and Barlow Condensed are served from this site. No request goes to Google Fonts or to any other font CDN. Every image, stylesheet and script comes from the same domain.

The buy buttons lead to Leanpub, the programme link to the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, the author links to their own pages. Once you follow one of those, that site’s privacy notice applies. We receive nothing back from them.

If a launch video is embedded on the home page, it is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com, which does not set tracking cookies until you start playback. Starting playback is your decision and connects you to YouTube.

Your rights

Under Art. 15 to 21 GDPR you can ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict its processing and object to it. In practice we hold nothing that identifies you: the server logs are Cloudflare’s, and we do not query them for individuals. Requests go to the address above.

You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in Germany the authority of your federal state, in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

Changes

If this site ever gains analytics, a form or a newsletter, this page changes before that goes live, not after.
